CASology #382

Welcome to Week 381 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

So many people are itching to be reunited with loved ones right now so I thought this pup would be perfect for today's cue word.  I coloured him with Copics and popped him up on some foam tape for a bit of dimension.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #298

Welcome to Week 298 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I'm second guessing myself as to whether a zebra is really a jungle animal.  I think they're mostly found on the plains but there are some mountain zebras so I'm going to hope there's also some jungle associated with those mountains...

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Two Birds (But No Stone)

Hello hello!

I have two cards to share today.  First is for Keren's Lovely Layers Challenge for the Winnie & Walter WCMD celebrations using the sketch from Merry Monday.  Another adorable birdie in a Santa hat makes an appearance!  I used W&W dies for the scalloped layers and the birdie is popped up on foam tape.  I thought it was kind of fun to have a yellow card base - not your usual Christmas colour but it helps make the birdie pop a bit.  I also added Stickles and Wink of Stella to his hat for some festive sparkle.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (12x12 polka dots) Doodlebug
Stamps:  (Bird & ornaments from Happy Owlidays, Christmas from The Big, The Bold and The Merry) Winnie & Walter
Inks:  (Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukeniko, (Real Red) Stampin' Up
Die:  (Scalloped rectangle) Winnie & Walter
Markers:  (R17, R29, Y15, Y38) Copic
Glitter:  (Frosted Lace Stickles) Ranger, (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig

This next card is for the AAA Cards sketch challenge.  It had me stumped until I came across this Memory Box branch while I was flipping through dies.  It seemed perfect for the stripe on the sketch.  This little MB bird is an old favourite - one of those dies I've definitely gotten my money's worth from!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Marina Mist, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Essentials Collection 6x6) Authentique
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Calm & Gentle) CAS-ual Fridays

Elephant, Kitty & Flowers

I'm back with a few more cards from my crafting session over the weekend.  First is a card for the Fusion challenge.  I used the sketch but also incorporated the stripes, teal and pink from the inspiration photo.  How sweet is that Whimsy Stamps elephant?  I love his little face!

Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Stitched circle) Lil' Inker Designs
Glitter:  (Yellow Stickles) Ranger
Gems:  Recollections

Next is a card using the sketch at My Favourite Things.  I stuck very close to the design using a Heart Stax die and Copic coloring one of the many cute kitty images that MFT has.  The white panel and the kitty are popped up on foam tape.  I'm also going to enter this in the Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Finally is a card for the latest ColourQ challenge.  I took inspiration from the photo as well as the colours and created a wreath using PTI leaves, Lil' Inker Designs flowers and an Altenew sentiment.

That's it for today.  I'll see you tomorrow at CASology!

CASology #115

Welcome to Week 115 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Lots of delicious ideas popped into my head when I saw this week's cue word.  Betty Crocker Devil's Food Cake being the number one drool inducing option.  Yes, you read that right.   Betty Crocker.  Out of a box. I'm pretty picky about cake.  Nothing too fancy or too chocolately or too dense or too rich.  Simple simple simple.  And then I thought of Maltesers which are my favourite chocolates.  Again, not too chocolately - just enough.  Mmmmm…  Anyway despite all these visions of sweet things dancing in my head I ended up going in a totally different direction.  Given my job there's another type of chocolate that I see a lot of and that is Chocolate Labs!  While I have a lot of dog stamps this was the only one that I thought really resembled a Lab and given that he seems a little sad to me I thought he'd do well starring in a Miss You card.

And now it's your turn to inundate us with chocolatey goodness!  Go and check out the gorgeous creations from the Design Team and then get to work!

CASology #112

Welcome to Week 112 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Okay, folks.  I expect to see a TON of cards in the gallery this week because this word is wide open to interpretation.  I went with three die cuts for my card.  I used the Simon Says Cloud Bank die and cut it from Basic Black, Basic Grey and Smokey Slate cardstock.  I staggered them, added an embossed sentiment and I was done!  Head on over to the CASology page to see all the fabulous inspiration from the design team and then get crafting!

CAS(E) This Sketch #49

Welcome to Week 49 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch by Karolyn Loncon:

I ended up with two incarnations of this card.  My first attempt was the card below and I kept dithering about it so I made the card above.  Now the second one doesn't look so bad anymore but I'm not sure which one I like best.  What do you think?

After pondering these two cards be sure and hop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch blog and check out the designs from the rest of the DT.  Then be sure and play along!  Can't wait to see your ideas!

CAS(E) This Sketch #16

Welcome to Week 16 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch designed by Karolyn Loncon:

Today's sketch seemed to me like a great opportunity to use some patterned paper.  I was just saying to Lynn the other day that I needed to remember to stamp on patterned paper more often.  Perfect timing!  :) The papers are from the Authentique Freebird:  Endless & Fair-Weather collection and the stamps are from Vintage Clocks by The Craft's Meow.  Time to share your creations!  I can't wait to see what gorgeousness you bring our way this week!  Be sure and check out all the stunners on the CAS(E) This Sketch blog by the rest of the DT before you get started.

**This is my second post for today.  For my CAS-ual Fridays post please scroll down or click here.***

Hello there!  I'm back again with some more black and blue goodness for you.  This time I'm playing along with Dynamic Duos where we are to use Basic Black and Tempting Turquoise.  There is a dessert option to use clouds but I'm trying to cut back on desserts these days so I skipped them, tempting as they were!  :)  This is one of the first Papertrey Ink sets I ever got and I still love that little bird although I always thought he looked a bit sad.  Perfect for a Miss You card!

1 Design - 4 Challenges

I wanted to play along with the latest Lawnscaping challenge to use patterned paper and I thought this tree from Critters in the 'Burbs would be perfect to paper piece.  As I started looking at patterned papers I realised that I could use the design for a few other challenges as they each required using a different type of pattern.

CAS-ual Fridays wants us to use polka dots in our designs this week and I found this green polka dot paper that would be perfect for my tree.
Over at the Moxie Fab World Cath has several challenges on the go including the Gingham Challenge...
...and the Damask and Brocade Challenge.
They would make a cute set I think although maybe with a different sentiment.  I'd feel bad for anyone who missed that many people that they had to buy "Miss You" cards in bulk!

Smooches Inspiration

I've seen some fabulous interpretations of the picture at the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge this week although I struggled with my own idea.  It required some masking that I just could not get right but I wanted to get an entry in so I abandoned the original and went for a simplified version.  I was inspired by the colours and the little vase on the piano and I used stamps from Vogue Abode and Perky Plants.  I'm also going to enter this over at Simon Says Stamp's Anything Goes Challenge.

We had a pretty lazy morning her as it was pouring outside. Hurrah for water in the tank!  We watched some of the festivities on the Thames in England and almost felt like we were there since the weather here was just as bad.  :)  Hope it clears up for the next two days for you guys!
