Meowy Christmas

Hi there!  I had some unexpected time to craft today so I'm back with a few more cards.  First up is a card for the CAS on Sunday Pets challenge.  About a month ago we spent a day hunkered down in the house waiting out Hurricane Nicole.  I ended up spending a big part of the day coloring stamped images and I'm slowly getting around to actually making cards with them.  I made two of the same card just with different coloured kitties from Newton's Nook.  The paper is an ancient piece of 12x12 patterned paper that is finally seeing the light of day.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  ?
Stamps:  (All from Newton's Holiday Mischief) Newton's Nook
Inks:  (Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Wonky Stitched Square) My Favourite Things
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig

Next is a card for the Little Tangles CAS challenge.  I used some off white MFT patterned paper in the background for a little interest.  The ornament is embossed in silver and I thought some pink would add a bit of fun to the card.

Okay, that's really it for today!  Have a good night!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Black) Gina K
Patterned Paper:  My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (Ornament from Merry & Bright, Sentiment from Very Merry) Neat & Tangled
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Silver) Ranger
Twine:  The Twinery
Gems:  Recollection

Flowers & Balloons

Good morning!  I have two cards to share today for seven challenges.  This first card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, the colours at The Colour Throwdown, the Hello challenge at Little Tangles and the paper piecing challenge at CAS on Sunday.  I paper pieced the flowers from an early Neat & Tangled set, added some gems and arranged them on a die cut panel.  I curled the edges of all the flowers and added a second layer on foam tape for the pink flower.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Kraft) Papertrey Ink, (White) Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  (My Girl 6x6) American Crafts
Stamps:  (All from Fresh Blooms) Neat & Tangled
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Finished Frames) Avery Elle
Gem:  (Pink, clear) Recollections, (Turquoise) Doodlebug

This next card uses the sketch from Just Add Ink, the colours from ColourQ and the CAS challenge at Seize the Birthday.  I love those Lil' Inker balloons and use them quite often - yes I actually have some non-NBUS stuff in my stash!  :)  If you used different colours this would make a great guy card.  That's all for now.  I'll see you tomorrow for CASology!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, So Saffron, Crumb Cake) Stamping' Up

Tangled Celebration

For some reason I am completely confused about which day is which this week - I seem to be a day ahead of myself.  Last night I posted a card that I meant to post today and now I keep thinking today is Friday.  It's such a let down when I remember it's only Thursday!
So annoying…

Today's card is for three challenges.  I used the colours from ColourQ, the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the birthday theme from Little Tangles.  All the stamps are from Neat & Tangled and I really like the bright, fun colours - perfect for a celebration!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Basic BlackMelon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Bermuda Bay, Early Espresso
Stamps:  (Balloons & sentiment from Just For You, Zigzags from Little Tangles) Neat & Tangled

Bring Out the Big Balloons

Just one card to share tonight.  I used The Paper Players colour palette for this simple birthday card. The sentiment is layered 3 times to really make it pop - two black layers and an Old Olive layer.  I may end up making a bunch of these in different colour combos given how quick it was to assemble.  The only fiddly part was layering the die cuts together.  I'm also going to enter it over at the Little Tangles birthday challenge.

Cardstock:  (Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Balloons & sentiment) Simon Says Stamp

Flowers, Triangles & Specs

Hello again!  I'm back with a few more of the cards I created yesterday.  First up is a card for the Muse challenge using the Colour Me…Playful colours. This is Anita's first card as a Muse designer - whoop whoop!  If you haven't seen her work before you should take a moment to check it out - she has a great CAS style that I love.  As you can see from my card I really liked her Muse design and I've stuck very close to it in terms of layout and images.  Her adorable Woodware flowers reminded me of these Simon Says ones that had yet to see ink so it was a great excuse to pull them out. Also if it wasn't for Anita's card I probably wouldn't have come up with anything for the Colour Me challenge but the two fit together perfectly.  Love when that happens!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Blackberry Bliss) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flowers from Scribble Flowers) Simon Says Stamp, (Sentiment from Grand Greetings) Lawn Fawn
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Pink Pirouette) Calypso Coral, Garden Green) Stampin' Up
Embossing Powder:  (Seafoam White) Ranger
Gems:  Recollections

This next card is also a two-for-one challenge card.  I combined the Little Tangles die cutting challenge with the latest Colour Throwdown palette.  These colours rock!  I love the lime green and aqua together and the greys are the perfect compliments.  And how cute is the little bucket in the inspiration photo?  I want one!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Lucky Limeade, Coastal Cabana, Smokey Slate, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Just For You) Neat & Tangled
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Tiny Triangles) Neat & Tangled
Gems:  Recollections

This card is a CAS design for the current Addicted to Stamps & More challenge.  It also uses the palette from ColourQ where they are celebrating their 300th challenge! Whoop whoop!  I've been playing along with ColourQ since I first began blogging and they provided me with one of my fist challenge recognitions which meant so much to me when I was starting out.  Arielle and all the team members rock! The stamps are all from Paper Smooches.  That's it from me today but I'll be back tomorrow!  Have a great night!

Cupcakes & Dinosaurs

Monday morning is upon us again already.  *Sigh*  Why do the weekends always go by at warp speed?  Ah well, it was a good weekend even if it was too quick.  I have two cards for several challenges to share with you today so lets get right to it!

First up is a card inspired by the photo over at Addicted to Stamps. All those bright colours and the yummy cupcakes in the upper right corner led me to this bright and cheery birthday card.  The pattern in the background was created with tinted embossing paste and a Crafter's Workshop stencil.  I'm also playing along again with the Little Tangles Anything Goes challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  (My Girl 6x6) American Crafts
Stamps:  (Cupcake & sentiment from Sketchy Cupcakes) Neat & Tangled

Stencil:  (Mini Well Rounded) The Crafter's Workshop
Embossing Paste:  Wendy Vecchi
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card for three challenges.  I used the Colour Me colours and kept the design really CAS so am joining in with AAA Cards' Bare Naked CAS challenge.  All the stamps are from Paper Smooches so I'll also be entering it in the PS Sparks Anything Goes challenge.  I masked and inked the background with various Distress Inks, paper pieced Mr. Dinosaur and then popped him up on foam tape.  I finished it off by curving the sentiment and adding a few gems.  Have a lovely day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Yellow & Grey Thanks

Hi there!  I'm back again with another of the cards I made yesterday.  This one is for three different challenges.  Michele's card over at Muse uses gorgeous yellow patterned paper and a big yellow bloom.  I combined that inspiration with the grey and yellow graphic feel of the Cure for the Monday Blues photo on Taheerah's blog.  And, since the stamps, die and sequins are all from Neat & Tangled, I'm going to join in with the Anything Goes challenge at Little Tangles.  Hope you all have a lovely day!

Little Tangles Watercolour

Hi there!  I'm popping in this morning with a card for the Little Tangles watercolor challenge.  To make my polka dots I stamped the criss crossed circle from Neat & Tangled's Stop and Go in four different Stampin' Up shades of red.  I then took a wet brush and blurred the centre of each of them to create the polka dots.  I used a Stitched Circle from Lil' Inker Designs for my sentiment.  I'm pretty pleased with how this came out. I love the rich colours and the touch of texture in the polka dots.  I'm thinking that I should go back and make a whole set of these in different colours.  You can never have too many quick and easy birthday cards!

The Right Stuff!

Hi there!  Sorry it's been so quiet around here but the extra work shifts have been keeping me busy and I have another week of them to go.  Today though I managed to steal a few hours to play in the Craft Cave.  I got some DT and special order cards done and even found a time to play along with some challenges.  Whoop whoop!  This card is for the current challenge over at Little Tangles.  I was inspired by the colours - those of the flip flops and the background.  I used some Copics on this lovely bird and perched him on an upside down tag.

The other reason I've been quiet is because I was a little distracted last weekend.  I was a huge New Kids on the Block fan when I was a kid and the latest NKOTB cruise made a stop in Bermuda last Saturday.  I was there to greet the boat with a 3' x 6' sign saying "Danny!  I've waited 25 years to meet you!"  I waited on that dock from 7am until 3:30pm when Danny came off the boat solely to talk to me.  He gave me an autograph, took some pictures and promised me tickets for a future show before heading back onboard.  Whoop whoop!  I was a very happy (and extremely sunburnt) camper.  :)  I'll let you know if the ticket thing pans out…

Oh Crap!

I'm so sorry but I just couldn't resist making this card.  This was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the Ink Splash stamp from Neat & Tangled.  (My apologies, Danielle!)  My first attempt only used white ink for the… um… "accident" but it didn't look quite right so I did some experimenting with adding some brown and grey and thought this looked a bit more realistic!  :D  What did we do before we had Google to show us what everything looks like?  (Although given the joy the seagulls seem to be taking in decorating our dock I wouldn't have had to look far for true inspiration.  But I digress…) I am gleefully entering this in the One-Layer challenge at Little Tangles and also the One-Layer Simplicity Challenge:  Restocking the Shelves.  I always need birthday cards but what I need even more than that are belated birthday cards and this fits the bill perfectly with the right sentiment on the inside.  ;)

ETA:  Tracey pointed out the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is Let's Have a Laugh which would fit perfectly with my card so I'm going to enter it over there.  Thanks, Tracey!

Neat & Tangled's 1st Birthday Bash!

Hi there!  I was super chuffed to be invited to join in the 1st birthday celebration for Danielle Walls' Neat and Tangled Stamps.  The celebration has been going on all month long at the Neat and Tangled blog and the Little Tangles Challenge blog.  If you haven't checked them out then you must as there are tons of challenges, giveaways and party ideas. I have a post today on the Little Tangles blog and would love it if you'd check it out and let me know what you think!  Here's a little sneak peak for you...

Big thanks to Danielle and Ren-Yi for inviting me to help out with the celebrations - it's been a blast!

Starry Birthday

Good morning!  I'm popping in with a birthday card for two challenges - the Little Tangles birthday challenge and the Moxie Fab Birthday Card challenge.  This is another one of my "what was I thinking" cards.  LOL!  I stamped the wavy lines from the Little Tangles set which was easy enough. Then I took a star from the Halloween Scene collection, stamped it 24 times, coloured them in and fussy cut all of them!  I don't know what possesses me to cut out these tiny images but I'm glad I did it because I think the end result is really fun!  Off to the Craft Cave to carry on with the special orders.  Have a lovely day!

Tiny Buttons

Happy Saturday, everyone!  We're off to town to run errands this morning but I wanted to post this card for two challenges - the buttons challenge at Little Tangles and the paper piecing challenge at Simon Says Stamp.  I love this Fresh Blooms flower from Neat and Tangled.  It seems to be my go to stamp for their challenges!  As for the buttons I used some teeny tiny buttons I got from the dollar store (where everything costs $2.99!).  Here's a picture just in case you don't believe me...

How cute are they?  And I love the dotty paper from Bo Bunny - I should have bought more than one pad of it because I know it's going to get used up fast!  Okay, time to get going. Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
