The Snuggle Is Real

Today's card is for the colour challenge at the Paper Players and the Stock Your Stash (baby) challenge at Reverse Confetti.  The RC onesie stamps are my favourites for baby cards especially this one that says "The snuggle is real." I layered it on a pierced circle from Lil' Inker Designs and combined a Simon Says die with an Altewnew stamp to create the sentiment.

Plaid Baby Welcome

I've got two cards today for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I haven't made any baby cards in ages and this sketch also looked like a good opportunity to use some more patterned paper.  I've combined a Simon Says Stamp die cut sentiment with a Hero Arts teddy bear and some MFT (pink) and Lawn Fawn (blue) patterned papers.

Our lockdown has been extended for two more weeks but it looks like a few retail stores (hardware, garden supplies & pet supplies) will be able to open for limited hours starting next week.  Hooray!  It's been so frustrating to be home knowing there's a million projects we could be working on if we just had the supplies.  Fingers crossed we'll be able to get a few things accomplished in the next couple of weeks.

Hope you're all staying safe and well!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pretty in Pink, Bermuda Bay, Smokey Slate, Basic Black) Stampin; Up
Patterned Paper:  (Pink from County Fair Plaid 6x6) My Favourite Things, (Blue from Perfectly Plaid 6x6) Lawn Fawn
Stamps:  (Bear from New Baby) Hero Arts, (Sentiment from Just Hatched) Mama Elephant

Time to Celebrate Baby!

Hello!

This morning I've got a card (in 2 colours) for the Stock Your Stash challenge at Reverse Confetti where this month's theme is Oh, Baby!  These onesie images are so adorable and are the first stamps I reach for when I need to make a baby card.  This time I paired them with a sentiment from a birthday set but I think it works great for any kind of celebration!

I'm also playing along over at Addicted to Stamps and More where this week's theme is Anything Goes.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Onesie from Cute As A Button, Sentiment from Birthday Wishes) Reverse Confetti

Bright Birthdays and Babies

I've got some more Just for the Heck of It cards today.  I became obsessed with these Pretty Pink Posh Stacked Edges dies thanks to Jeanne Jachna and cards like these and this and this.  They add so much movement and colour to her cards and are a big change for me from my usual white card bases.

For the first two cards I used a Papertrey Ink birthday die cut.  I stacked it 3 times and then covered it with Glossy Accents.

For these next two cards I uses a Simon Says Stamp sentiment and a little teddy bear from Mama Elephant.  I really wanted the backgrounds to be the star of the show so I kept the rest of the cards pretty simple.

CASology #314

Welcome to Week 314 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Today's cue word gave me the perfect chance to finally ink up this sentiment from MFT which I think is totally adorable.  Of course, I had to make a girl card too - just 'cause.  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Baby Birds

Hello there!

I've got a card to share today for the Baby challenge at Addicted To CAS.  I had fun mixing and matching stamp companies for this one.  The baby bird and sentiment are Mama Elephant, the background pattern is Altenew and the star frame is Avery Elle.  I love it when they all play so well together!  Of course I couldn't just make a girl card so I made a boy card too.

Super Cute Laundry

Hi there!

It was an absolutely perfect day here today - cool, dry, sunny and breezy.  It was wonderful to turn off the air con and have all the doors and windows wide open.  If I could bottle this weather and keep it forever I'd be happy.  :)

I've got a card to share for the current Card Concept challenge - for the clean and layered category I'd say.  I was inspired by the baby theme and the pastel drawers led to my colored rectangles.  The baby clothes and sentiment are NBUS from My Favourite Things.  This was a bit tricky to photograph as the coloured Bazzill paper has a bit of a shine to it.  I'm trying to use up some of the random pieces of coloured card stock that I have kicking around instead of always going straight for my Stampin' Up stuff.  I ended up making 2 since I originally cut 3 pieces of each colour.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up, (Pink, yellow, green, blue, white) Bazzill
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Welcome, Baby) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko
Dies:  (Baby clothes) My Favourite Things, (Stitched Rectangle) Lil' Inker Designs

CASology #253

Welcome to Week 253 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I don't seem to have all that many clothing images in my stamp and die collection outside of baby clothes so I went with what I have.  Originally I was just going to have the onesie replace the "a" in baby but it didn't look quite right.  Then I placed a Lawn Fawn "a" on the onesie and it pretty much obscured it.  I then found a smaller Papertrey "a" which fit in the onesie perfectly.  Looking at it now I'm not sure I like it.  Maybe it needs a bigger onesie with an "a" that matches the other letters.  I may have to play with this design again.  What do you guys think?

I had to make a boy version of the card too of course!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Welcome to the World

Hi there!  I finally got around to tackling the latest Sketch for You to Try over at Reverse Confetti.  I pulled out the adorable onesie stamps again and stamped them in ombre colours.  The top half of each one is popped up with foam tape and the bottom half is adhered directly to the card.  The sentiment is from a different set and I thought a sparkly little garland would add to the celebration of a new arrival.  Of course I had to make one in blue as well and really should have made a neutral one too.  Maybe I'll get to that tomorrow...

Baby Boom

Hello there!

I've got a card today for the Muse challenge and the Paper Players CAS Baby card challenge.  Jenni's sweet little baby card provides plenty of inspiration.  I picked up on the baby clothes on a white panel over gingham.  I inked up these adorable Reverse Confetti onesies, fussy cut them and popped them up on foam tape onto the Lil' Inker pierced squares.  The gingham background is from Market Street Stamps (sadly no longer in existence).  I couldn't just make one pink card so I made three more in other colours using the different onesies.

CASology #222

Welcome to Week 222 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I tried really hard to come up with something really clever for this week's cue word but my brain wasn't cooperating so in the end I went for a Welcome Baby card.  It's actually a good thing as I have run out of them in my stash.  I ended up making 5 of them using different papers from the Studio Calico Story Time collections.  The colours are quite pale in these pictures but they look soft and pretty in real life.  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

Plaid Elephant & Hurricane

We're battening down the hatches here in anticipation of the arrival of Hurricane Nicole.    Last I checked she's a Category 2 with a chance of upgrade to Category 3 arriving sometime tonight.  Not nearly the monster that Matthew was but it will still make for a stressful 24 hours.  I figured I'd get a post in today since I don't know what the power/internet situation will be tomorrow.

I'm playing along with the Oh Baby challenge at Cupcake Inspirations.  How cute is that My Favourite Things elephant?  I love him!  This was pretty quick to put together.  I used some Lawn Fawn plaid paper and an ancient Hero Arts sentiment (which is probably my favourite baby sentiment) and that was pretty much it!

Okay, back to last minute preparations.  Have a wonderful day!
