CASology #244

Welcome to Week 244 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This week's cue word gave me the perfect excuse to finally ink up this adorable little Avery Elle chick because what's one way to get strong?  Exercise of course!  I don't think I generally look that happy when I'm exercising but that's just me.  :)  Since I had the set out I made a couple more cards in different colours.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Purr-thday Kitties

Hi there!
I'm starting off the week with a card for three challenges - Freshly Made Sketches, the Simon Wednesday Happy Birthday challenge and the Addicted to Stamps and More Anything Goes challenge.  I love the fun sketch this week at FMS and decided pretty early on that I'd be using these MFT kitties for my design.  The kitties and cake are Copic coloured, fussy cut and popped up on Lil' Inkers stitched squares.  I'm going to have to go back and make a dog one as well I think.  Got to keep all the different animal lovers happy.  :)
Have a great day!

Purple Bottles & Kites

After a busy couple of weeks I was excited to get some crafty time this weekend and not just card making crafty.  Last night a few friends got together to make Bermuda kites.  It's tradition here on Good Friday to fly kites and to eat lots of hot cross buns and fishcakes.
As you can see from the photo we all went for different patterns.  It's a seriously fiddly job cutting the panels and gluing them down and I confess that by 10:30pm I was losing the will to live but I got it done and we'll see on Friday if it flies.

As for my card this is for The Card Concept and I'd say it definitely falls into the clean and simple category.  The bottles and sentiment are from Fresh Squeezed Stamps (sadly closed) and the flower is Altenew.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black) Stampin' Up

CASology #243

Welcome to Week 243 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

What a yummy cue word this week!!  I am a big fan of cake and icing.  It's pretty much my favourite dessert.  Nothing fancy either - a good old Duncan Hines box cake makes me very happy - Devil's Food with whipped vanilla frosting preferably!  While I love chocolate cake with white icing it's not that fun to colour so this little bear got to chow down on yellow cake with strawberry icing.  He's made an admirable start but I think I would have gotten a lot further before I gave up.  Not sure if that's actually something to be proud of...

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #242

Welcome to Week 242 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I had completely forgotten about this Hero Arts stamp set but when I stumbled across it I realized it was perfect for this week's challenge and I'd knock an NBUS off the list!  I went for colours that could work for a guy or a girl and a jaunty angle for a bit of fun.  Also I discovered that if you put Nuvo drops onto stamp ink they'll take up the colour of the ink.  Kind of fun!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CAS Colours & Sketches Guest Designer Take 4

Hi there!  I'm back for my final week of guest designing for CAS Colours & Sketches.  I just want to say thank you to the lovely CC&S ladies for welcoming me and letting me play along with them for the last 4 weeks.

This week we have a sketch challenge:

When I see layers for a CAS card sketch I always get a little worried but keeping the top layer white helps to keep it clean.  I used a peekaboo amount of patterned paper underneath it and pulled colours from it for the rest of the card.  This MFT bear is from one of my most used My Favourite Things sets.  I think he's just so cute!

Be sure to check out the inspiration from the Design Team and then play along!  You have until 6pm Eastern Time on Monday, 3 April.

Die Cut Sympathy

Hi there!  I've got a card today for the Simon Says Wednesday challenge to use more than one die cut or punch.  This card is pretty much all die cuts so I think it qualifies nicely.  All the elements on the card (except the gems) are from Paper Smooches.  I love those paint stroke dies.  They're so cool and can be used for so many different types of card.  To help the leaves pop I cut them from green and black card and layered them to give a bit of a shadow.
That's it for now.  See you tomorrow for CASology!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Dark grey) Papertrey Ink, (Certainly Celery, Basic Grey, Basic Black) Stampin' Up, (Light grey, Blue) Bazzill
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Good Gab) Paper Smooches
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Vase, leaves, paint strokes) Paper Smooches
