CAS(E) This Sketch #63

Welcome to Week 63 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch designed by Joni Andaya:

This stamp is a prime example of NBUS - Never Before Used Schtuff.  I bought it at least 3 years ago and it has been steadily collecting dust ever since.  What amazes me is that it came to mind at all considering how long it's been neglected but somehow it sent out it's "Use Me" vibes and called me to it.  I stamped it multiple times on different Stampin' Up cardstock - colours provided by this week's ColourQ challenge!  Then I fussy cut the different layers and flowers (and yes, some bad words may have slipped out while trimming those tiny little blooms!).  I like the final result though so I guess it was worth the effort.  I'm looking forward to seeing your efforts with this sketch so go check out the rest of the designs from the team and then get to work!

ETA:  I had also planned to add this to the current Simon Says Wednesday Have a Heart challenge.

Off The Edge

Hello and happy Wednesday!  I'm playing along with the CAS-ual Fridays Over The Edge challenge today.  The bird and branch are two of my favourite dies and I love them paired with the Lil' Inker stitched circle.  Although I've been trying to deplete my patterned paper stash I must say that sometimes you just can't beat solid colour cardstock!  I hope you're having a lovely week!

CASology #81

Welcome to Week 81 of CASology!  Here's the cue word for this week:

My immediate thought for this week's cue word was a design that I had actually already used for a CASology challenge here.  I couldn't use it again so I had to shake it out of my head and go for a new angle.  Instead I pulled out a sentiment that starts with the word "And".  It's my go-to sentiment for wedding cards.  And I'm loving these Craft's Meow face stamps.  They have lots of images to mix and match and they're perfect for CAS designs. AND now it's over to you!  Get those thinking caps on and create some more gorgeousness for us but first be sure and visit the rest of the team for oodles of inspiration!

And this week's guest designer:

Link your creations to the CASology blog and remember that submissions are due by 4pm CST on Sunday, 9 February.

Warhol Grate

Good morning and welcome to a new week!  I'm diving into two challenges with today's card - the colour challenge at Newton's Nook and the Keep It Simple square challenge.  As usual the colours that looked like a perfect match in real life appear decidedly different on the screen.  That blue is a whole lot bluer and a lot less teal here but there you go - the fun of trying to photograph cards for computer viewing!  I love that little grate image from Newton's Nook and decided to go for a Warhol vibe with this card.  It's fun and bright and makes me happy.  Hope it does all that for you too.  Have a lovely day!

A Bit o' Twine

I was recently asked to make some bright and cheery thank you cards so I decided to dig into my patterned paper stash a bit more.  This Simple Stories paper was pretty popular a year or so ago. I'm always so behind on the trends!  Anyway I made a few different cards and since this one used some twine I thought I'd enter it at the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge to use twine or string. Here's another of them (although this one is twine-free). I'll share some more later.  Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Sunshine & Rainbows

Ah, Friday, so good to see you again!  And to celebrate I have a bright and cheerful card.  This week at Colour Me…! we can use up to 5 colours of our choice.  I've used 5 colours here including 4 of the current Stampin' Up In Colours - Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, and Coastal Cabana.  Despite the fact that I have the cute Lil' Inkers rainbow die, this rainbow was actually created from an off cut (from this card) that's been sitting on my desk for ages.  It pays not to throw those scraps away!  I hope you're having a lovely day and that you weekend is all sunshine and rainbows!
