Have A Phone-omenal Day!

I haven't had a chance to do any crafting for weeks so I was happy to finally have a day to spend making cards.  I recently got this adorable phone die and stamp set from SugarPea and decided it had to be the first thing I used.  I decided to play along with the Colour Throwdown and AAA Birthday's 2nd birthday celebration.  I die cut all the pieces twice from yellow and black cardstock so that I could make two cards at once and I used a Watercolor Frame stamp from Altenew to add some interest and dimension behind the phones.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, True Black) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Top sentiment from Birthday Greetings, Background splatter from Watercolor Frames) Altenew, (Bottom sentiment from Call Me) SugarPea Designs
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Silver Stone, Industrial Diamond) Altenew

My Heart Beats For You

It's been a gorgeous weekend here so I haven't spent a ton of time inside but I did get a couple of cards made this morning.  This one is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  This heartbeat monitor die from SugarPea is so cute and came to mind immediately when I saw the sketch.  I paired it with a CAS-ual Fridays sentiment and a Taylored Expressions heart.  I love it when different companies play well together!

CASology #370

Welcome to Week 370 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Today's cue word gave me the nudge to finally pull out this SugarPea Designs stamp and die set and put it to use.  This is probably the fastest a card has come together for me in ages which seems fitting for a super CAS guy card.  The Dad and mustache were die cut multiple times and stacked for some dimension.  I added the argyle stripe at the bottom because an odd number of lines feels more balanced I wanted red at the top and bottom of the stack.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

***We're switching to a monthly challenge schedule for the summer so you have 4 weeks to play along!***

Welcome Home

I'm popping in with a last minute entry for the AAA Card Challenge where we have to use 1 image with the optional twist inspired by TV.  We often have HGTV on in the background when we're puttering around the house and Fixer Upper is on quite regularly.  When Chip and Joanna show their clients their new house they always say, "Welcome home."

Funny story about Fixer Upper - I caught the end of an episode a few weeks ago and thought the husband from the couple whose house was being renovated looked very familiar.  Turns out that's because he was my first boyfriend!  I remembered afterwards that
his family was originally from Texas (they lived here in Bermuda for a couple of years) and he went to university at Baylor so its not surprising he's ended up back in Waco.  So weird to see someone pop up out of the blue who I haven't thought about in forever.  Know what's even weirder?  That makes 3 boys I've kissed who have turned up on reality tv shows.  Either there are too many reality shows or I kissed too many boys in my youth!

CASology #346

Welcome to Week 346 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

These are definitely not the kind of rings I want to have anywhere in my house but I'll always risk them for a good cup of coffee!  A caramel latte with soy milk is my go-to (hot or cold depending on the season).  What's your favourite?

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #342

Welcome to Week 342 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I love it when I find a sentiment that is the perfect fit for an image from another company.  This My Favourite Things sentiment was made for these Paper Smooches elephants and the SugarPea Mother die cut was the icing on the cake for a card at this time of year since Mother's Day is on Sunday!

CASology #339

Welcome to Week 339 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I went a little outside the box with the cue word this week because what came to mind was Neil Armstrong's quote from the moon landing:

That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.

That led me to dig around for a moon image and I found this NBUS one from SugarPea Designs that was sorely in need of inking up.

Sentiment Cakes II

I've got three more cards to share from my session with the Lil' Inker sentiment cake stamps.  I continued on with the theme of patterned paper for the first two cards.  The sunburst die on the first card is from SugarPea Designs.  The rectangle dies on the second card are from Mama Elephant.

For the last card I used stamps to create a background pattern and stamped the main cake with Hero Arts ombre ink.  The vellum circle is die cut with a Lil' Inker fringe scalloped circle die which adds some fun to the edges.  I used Nuvo drops for the flames on the candles.

Birdies with Stripes

I've got two bright and cheery birthday cards today for the SugarPea Designs Mix It Up challenge where this time it's Anything Goes.  The Everyday Is Christmas set is inspired by the 12 Days of Christmas but the images can be used for any time of year which makes them all the more awesome.  I love this little birdie chirping away on his cellphone, delivering some birthday love!  I coloured him with Copics and paired him with some fun paper from We R Memory Keepers.  He's die cut with an SPD circle and he and the sentiment are popped up on foam tape.

I'm also going to enter these in the Anything Goes challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Purple & Green

Hi there!  It's been a cold and blustery day today so after having a walk with Tex I scooted off to the Craft Cave for some inky time and I have two cards to share tonight.

First is inspired by  EK Gorman's card over at Muse.  I love that chicken and sentiment - they totally cracked me up!  I looked for something similarly funny but in the end I took my inspiration from the leaves surrounding the image.  They reminded me of the leaves from Altenew's Doodle Blooms so I pulled them out and used them to frame the sentiment on a simple thank you card.  I used Zigs to colour everything and popped the flower up on foam tape for a bit of dimension.  There's plenty of Wink of Stella on everything too.  I'm also going to enter this in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Flower & leaves from Doodle Blooms, Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks:  (Intense Black) Simon Says Stamp
Markers:  (41, 45, 81, 82, 83) Zig
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig
Gems:  Recollection

Next is a card for Freshly Made Sketches.  The stamps are all from Essentials by Ellen.  These stamps were everywhere last year but I didn't get them until this year so as usual I'm a little behind on the trend but I don't care because I love them.  I got a couple of other sets from last year too so you'll be seeing a lot of them.  Consider it a trip down memory lane!

Time for bed now.  Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!
