Easter Kites

Hiya!

I'm playing along today with the Inkspirational Word Prompt Challenge - Cloud.  Here in Bermuda it's tradition to fly kites on Good Friday so I wanted to make some kite related Easter cards.  This Paper Smooches image is perfect and I love the little curls in the cloud design - so cute!  I paper pieced the kite and clouds and then added a Simon Says Stamp Easter die.  I ended up making 3 cards with the different combos of paper left over from the stamping and fussy cutting.  Always a plus when you can make multiples!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Textured white) Bazzill, (Rose Red, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Kite & cloud from Cut Loose) Paper Smooches, (Blessings from Rejoice!) Simn Says Stamp
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Easter) Simon Says Stamp
Glitter:  (Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss) Tonic

Trio of Bunnies

Good morning!

I'm popping in with a card for two challenges - AAA Cards (1 image + optional twist: spring) and Simon Says Wednesday challenge (Cute).  I've had this cute Skipping Stones Designs bunny image for ages and, while he's had a few outings in the past, it was fun to find him again and dust him off.  I thought the Altenew letters felt very Easter-y and I'm always a fan of the yellow and turquoise combo!

I made a few other cards while I had the supplies out but keep changing my mind about which is my favourite.  Which do you like best?

Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow

CASology #293

Welcome to Week 293 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I had a request for Easter cards a couple of years ago but haven't really used these stamps and dies since then so this challenge gave me a perfect excuse to dust them off and put them to use.  The inspiration for this card came from a church that I pass on the way to work every day.  Across the street they have three crosses set up on the cliff edge overlooking the water.  At certain times of year they're draped with fabric which looks gorgeous when it's blowing in the breeze with the turquoise water backdrop.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Colour Blocked Bunnies

Hello there!  I feel like it's been ages since I spent a good chunk of time in Blogland!  The last couple of weeks have just flown by.  I was busy in the Craft Cave with a special order for 75 cards so there wasn't much time for challenges.  I also did some extra shifts at work and we all took part in a dental course yesterday.  I confess that I was dreading it but it turned out to be pretty interesting thanks to an enthusiastic and inspired teacher.

Today I finally managed to play along with some challenges. I used the colours from The Colour Throwdown and the colour blocks required by CAS-ual Fridays to make a bright and fun Easter card.  The bunnies are embossed in white and then outlined with the same colour as the cardstock to make them pop a bit.  I'm hoping that this week will be a bit calmer and that I'll get back to catching up with everyone and making some more card of course!

Before I go I just had to share the other project I got up to this weekend.  We've been having problems with our washing machine and after a bit of research I discovered it's a well known issue for the model and there's a recall on the computer board.  Unfortunately, being in Bermuda, I can't just call up Whirlpool and have them send someone over to replace it for free like I could if I lived in the US.  So I figured out what the replacement part was, had it shipped in and Luis and I replaced it ourselves.  And guess what?  It worked! Whoop whoop!  I was so proud of us especially as it would have cost up a fortune to find someone to come and replace it for us.  Maybe we ought to start a side business...

CASology #34

Welcome to Week 34 of CASology!  Here's the cue word for this week:

Easter is fast approaching so what better time to pull out those bunny images?  This poor little Sweet Stamp Shop bunny has been nibbled by a chocolate fiend and I envisioned the card as a memo from P.E.T.C.B (People for the Ethical Treatment of Chocolate Bunnies) with an idea to save him.  Although P.E.T.C.C. will surely be on the defensive very quickly! Your turn to showcase some bunnies.  Check out the fabulous designs by the rest of the team and then get to work!

And this week's guest designer:

Embellish Is Back!

After a little hiatus the Embellish challenge is back and this time they've given us spring colours to go along with a spring theme.  And, of course, now that I'm looking at my card on screen next to the Embellish colours I see that my darker pink is waaaay off.  Hmmm...  It's going to have to do for now though as I am in my usual state of Thursday night knackeredness and am not going to be fixing it before the deadline.  Clearly I was having eye issues yesterday!!  Perhaps I'll put in a fresh pair of contact lenses before the next challenge...

Stamps:  (Easter Noteblock) Purple Onion Designs, (Bunny) ?

Easter Wishes

The colours for ColourQ Challenge #78 are very sweet and girlie - ie not me!!  I was going to give this week a miss but I've missed their last 2 challenges so I thought I'd suck it up and go girlie!  :)  I went for an Easter theme after finding these wooden rabbits in the Craft Cave.  They came from the UK (I think my mom bought them for me when she was over there a couple of years ago) but I'm not sure who makes them.  They're cute and surprisingly light and I have some flower shapes as well.  You may see some more of them in the near future!

Supplies:  CS: SU Early Espresso & Pink Pirouette, PTI Kraft; Stamps: Hero Arts & Elzybells;  Thread: Making Memories; Unknown:  Bunny & buttons

Easter Eggs

Another multi-challenge card today.  The colour palette at Just Us Girls this week is perfect for Easter - lovely soft, spring colours.  I paired the colours with this week's sketch from Waltzingmouse.  I also used PTI's Make It Monday technique of adding colour to non-neutral cardstock.

Supplies: CS: SU Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette, white; Stamps: Elzybells; Ink: SU  Baja Breeze, Memento Tuxedo Black;  Other: PTI die, Making Memories string, Basic Grey & Doodlebug bling, Copics
I stamped the eggs on to SU cardstock and coloured them with Copics.  (Not sure where that egg stamp is from.  Perhaps Doodlebug?).  You can't really see it in the picture but I twisted together pink, blue and yellow embroidery thread for the banner string.

I'm sitting here second guessing myself now and thinking that maybe I should have used coloured card instead of a white card.  Or maybe not.  The white space just doesn't look quite right somehow.  Not quite balanced maybe...  Thoughts?
