Speech Bubble Thanks

Today's card is for two challenges - Time Out (Quick) and Just Add Ink (Just Add "S" - I added speech bubbles!)  I generally take forever to make even the simplest card but this one came together really quickly.  I used Paper Smooches speech bubble and thanks dies and some fun Pinkfresh paper to make a cheery thank you card.  The middle speech bubble is popped up on foam tape and the thanks is shined up with Glossy Accents.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  Pinkfresh
Dies:  (Speech bubble, thanks) Paper Smooches
Other:  (Glossy Accents) Ranger, (Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops) Tonic

Patterned Hello

Hi there!

Clearly this card is not my usual style but the challenge at Simon Says Stamp this week it to Layer It Up so I decided to stick a toe outside my comfort zone and see what I could come up with.  This took waaaaay too long to put together but I was determined to come up with something!  I broke out some Pinkfresh patterned papers and some dies from Paper Smooches and MFT and finally ended up with this.  I don't hate it but it's definitely a style I need to practice more.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  Pinkfresh
Dies:  (Hello, Notebook paper, Speech bubble) Paper Smooches, (Hearts) My Favourite Things

Framed Flower

Today's card is for the Colour Throwdown and Just Us Girls (Frame It) challenges.  Since I already had the Pinkfresh Floral Squares on my desk from my last card I decided to use a different one here.  This time I paper pieced the die cut with coloured card stock and backed it with a solid colour.  I originally reached for a white card base but I'm trying to push myself to put more of a dent in my coloured cardstock so I went for the blue instead.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Lucky Limeade, Baja Breeze, Midnight Muse, Rich Razzleberry) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Labeled Love) Mama Elephant
Inks:  (Rich Razzleberry) Stampin' Up
Die:  (Floral Squares) Pinkfresh

Yellow Floral Square

Hi there!
I've got a card today for the Freshly Made Sketches and Inkspirational challenges.  I thought immediately of the Pinkfresh Floral Squares when I saw the sketch and the bright yellow of the photo inspiration sent me straight to this Authentique paper which really allows the flower to pop.  I layered the die a few times for some depth and added a simple little sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Grey, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Essentials 6x6) Authentique

Designer Paper Anxiety

Hello hello!

I've got a card for three challenges today - Just Us Girls (designer paper), The Paper Players (Grateful/Thankful) and Pinkfresh Studio (circle elements).

I LOVE designer paper.  On my shelf.  Where I can flip through it and admire it and imagine all the cards I'd make with it.  But generally things stop right there.  Because what if I cut it wrong?  Or what if I use that gorgeous piece of paper and the card turns out to be crap?  Or what if I have a Laurie Willison Nuvo drops disaster??  Its far safer to just leave it on the shelf where I can't ruin it.

This is why I need challenges like the one from JUGS to use designer paper.  It forces me to take the plunge and let that paper have its moment in the sun.  This card took a ridiculously long time to put together.  I had to check and recheck that the circle dies were in the right place before I cranked it through the old Cricut.  I agonized over the ink colours for the cats (and now I wish I'd gone with a reddy/orange one for the middle).  I dithered for ages over whether the sentiment should go at the top or the bottom.  But I did it.  I used that piece of DP.  And you know what?  I still have half a billion pieces left so I think I'll be okay.

Crafty Friends Are The Best

Hello hello!

I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches today.  I think my card may be a little too busy  for the challenge but I still wanted to share it.  My incredibly generous bloggy friend, Claire of Ham'n'Mule Designs, sent me this fabulous Pinkfresh stamp set after I oohed and ahhed over this gorgeous background she created with it.  I've already made two cards with it but realised I haven't taken a photo of the other so I will share it another time.  I had fun rifling through my patterned papers to find the perfect collection to use and finally settled on these My Mind's Eye papers that have some beautiful shine to them.

High Five or Fist Bump?

Hi there!

I'm popping in quickly with a card for the AAA Cards Use a Frame challenge.  I have a few different frame dies from Paper Smooches (which I'm pretty sure have never seen the light of day) so I pulled one out for this challenge and cut it out with some striped paper.  The stamps are from Pinkfresh and I LOVE them!  I am a sucker for any cat or dog image and this set has quite a few in it.  I thought these guys looked like they could be high 5ing (or maybe even fist bumping) so the congrats sentiment seemed the most appropriate.

Turquoise Gratitude

Hello there!

I've got a card for three challenges today - Muse, Freshly Made Sketches and Colour Throwdown.  I love white and turquoise together - it's such a bright and fresh combination - and I was inspired by Anita's blended background.  The FMS sketch is perfect for framing this Pinkfresh Studio die which is so gorgeous it really doesn't need much embellishment.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

CASology #257

Welcome to Week 257 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

All the stamps on this card are NBUS which always makes me feel accomplished.  I love this little Pinkfresh bunny and there are a bunch of cute images in this set.  The sentiment from W Plus 9 also has bunnies with it but they will have to wait to see the sun another day!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!
