Starfruit Flower

Good morning! How was everyone's weekend?  It poured with rain all day on Saturday so we laid pretty low (much to Atticus' dismay). Yesterday was sunny but windy and brisk so we made up for Atti's boring Saturday with a swim in the morning and a walk in the afternoon.  In between Luis was cleaning out the basement (his equivalent of the Craft Cave!) and I worked on some cards.  Yay!

This card is a 4 for 1 challenge card.  I used the colours from ColourQ, the sketch from Fusion and made it a birthday card as per Seize the Birthday and the current Hero Arts floral birthday challenge.  The lower left picture from the Fusion challenge reminded me of using the backside of a stamp to lay down colour so I used the backside of the Hero Arts flower stamp to stamp the Summer Starfruit and then stamped it with the pattern side using Tempting Turquoise.  To finish off the flower I dug out an old Crate Paper brad and popped it up in the centre.  Roll on with the NBUS!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower from To/From Petals, Sentiment from Heydey Sentiments) Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Summer Starfruit, Tempting Turquoise) Stampin' Up
Die:  (In The Meadow) Papertrey Ink
Gems:  Recollections
Brad:  Crate Paper

  2. Cute idea to use the back side of the stamp first...don't know why I never seem to think to do that, especially great with flower image! This is a very good interpretation of this week's sketch!

  8. Jen, love this card. I recognized that HA flower instantly--it's one of my favorites. And, I don't know why it never occurred to me to turn it over like you did. I've been turning my circle scribbles over all day. Brilliant idea.
