Amy Butler Butterfly and a Jemmy Burrito!

Good evening, all!  Hope you had a lovely weekend.  Friday was Luis' and my mom's birthdays so on Saturday night we went to a fantastic restaurant and had one of the best meals I've had in a long time.  Super yummy stuff!  Luis spent most of the weekend playing with his birthday present (tools for Mr. Carpenterman) and I did a bunch of sorting and tidying in the Craft Cave.  I have a huge bag of stuff that I'm giving to my friend who's a teacher - I think she'll be able to make good use of it.  :)

As you can see I used up some more patterned paper for today's card.  It's stuff I've had for ages too - Amy Butler for K & Co.  Yeah,  I had to blow the dust off of it first!  The card is for the CASE Study challenge. After Jen Rzasa's stint ended I promised myself I'd still play along even if the next muse wasn't quite as CAS.  Don't get me wrong - I find these shabby/vintage cards beautiful but I'm just not so good at pulling them off myself.  So I focused on the colours, the butterflies and the banner and came up with something a little more me.  I'm also going to enter this over at  Lily Pad's patterned paper challenge.

I thought I'd share a couple of photos of Jem who apparently was a little chilly the other morning!  I don't know why I bother to make the bed because Jem rolls himself up like a burrito and completely undoes it all!

  1. that's hilarious, not the card (that's so sweet and definitely more my style than the CASE, i like space and less stuff!) love how you can't even make out jem is a dog in the bed, are you sure it's not luis in there ;)

  2. That dawg of yours sure knows which side his bread is buttered!!! Lol - good job they don't both do it or you'd lose your bed :0)
Love the card, much more my style than the CASE too...love your take on it :0)

  4. I'll just chime in with my agreement on the beauty of your CASed CASE -- I'm like you, though, in that I admire shabby/chic or vintage-style cards, I just can't seem to pull them off! Love the patterned paper butterfly.
What we let our pets do! My cat is currently fast asleep on our bed... on MY pillow! :D

  5. Your puppy makes me smile. And kudos to you for trying the CASE challenge! I mentioned that I would try if you tried, but now I don't think I can pull it off as well as you did. What a beautiful card.

  6. You did such a nice job of simplifying that beautiful, yet busy, card. Your card is lovely. That patterned paper butterfly is stunning.

  7. Hey Jen! I giggled when I read your post! Jem looks very comfortable. I am ... like you ... a little afraid of vintage. Mine always seem to appear too fussy! Take care. Hugs xxx

  8. I'm with you Jen, LOVE the shabby look, but struggle to do it... so I just enjoy everyone elses.
Your CAS take on the inpsiration is fabulous & such great use of those never ending DP's!
    Love your cute dog!

  10. Jem & Abby are soul mates - Abby sleeps completely under the covers, usually with her head resting on my rear end :) Brave little dog, lol.
I love how you CASified (it's a word now, shhh) the CASE card - love the colours you went with, and yay! for using up old stuff. It always makes me feel virtuous, anyhow!

  11. LOL, I had no idea what to expect when I read that title but I do love your card and Jem is so cute all rolled up in the blankets! When Chris had a ferret, he would roll Hobbes up in a fleece and call him crunchy ferret roll. :P

  12. The photo of your pup cracks me up because I know good and well that my dogs do the same thing. The blue patterned paper is so pretty. I am with you about the shabby chic cards that is why I stick to CAS! LOL!

And that is the best Jem burrito ever. Such a cutie.

  17. Great CAS take on the inspiration! Love those Amy Butler patterns:) And good on you for staying with CASE Study! I made myself the same promise, but my one idea for this week didn't pan out (good in my head, really lame in real life).

BTW, your dog is adorable. My dog is seriously jealous;)
