I finally had a day at home today after spending the last couple of days at my friend's house looking after Franklin. I had hoped to spend all day in the Craft Cave but between workers being at the house (replacing our balcony which was on the verge of collapse) and Luis being at home this week with strained muscles in his back, I didn't get that much done. Luis has been home all week and is bored to tears and so, of course, is driving me mad! I love him dearly but sick/injured men are really almost too much to handle! Anyway I did manage to get a card made for the Create challenge to incorporate wood on your card. I got a little casurina twig from outside, tied several green ribbon and fibre scraps to it and viola - a Christmas tree! It's kind of a Charlie Brown scrawny type of tree but I like it. :) Supplies Used: Cardstock: (Kraft) Gina K, (Yellow) Bazzill Basics Stamps: (Holiday Background) Hero Arts, (Sentiment from Holiday Tree) PTI Inks: (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko Dies: (Die-Namics Stacking Stars) MFT, (Banner) PTI Ribbon: Craft Supply Twig: The Great Outdoors!
Great collection of ribbons, they've made such a funky tree! And the star at the top is fab with it's bit of bling! Hope Luis is better soon and you can retrieve your crafty time.
I remember when Gav was in bed for 2 weeks when he ruptured a disc ... and he went insane. You are soooo right! Men are NOT good with pain. Love this little card. So clever, Jen! Hugs xx
Can't think why you couldn't puppy sit Franklin whilst creating in your craft cave!!!!!! ;) Can you imagine the fun he'd have! Love this tree , the perfect shape and a genius way to use wood on your card :) Jenny x
busy week! you deserve a weekend in the cave to recover ... injury partner's are the worst! ... this card is awesome and something i could try, may have to pin and CASE it my sweet ;)
We Charlie Brown our little tree on purpose :) They're my favourite kind! And I love your ribbon version to bits - what a great way to use up some of those ribbon ends that never make their way to the wastebasket... (only my house, right?)
...and duh, I forgot to say omg, I hope Luis is back up to speed soon! I have found over the years that it's only the minor things that make my hubs unbearable. The major surgeries & health scares he is completely self-sufficient, which is nearly scarier! That said, sending healing vibes so that you don't end up having to throttle him to keep your sanity :)
Oh my goodness! I saw your card on the CREATE blog and it was the most fabulous one! You are so creative!! Sorry to hear about Luis...hope he's doing better. :)
I always preferred the Charlie Brown kind of trees. This one is cute. Playful.
