Butterfly Rainbow

Hello hello!  Today I have a bright and happy hello card for the Virginia's View All About Colours challenge.  Definitely not my usual CAS style but I had fun making this layered rainbow of Paper Smooches butterflies.  I stamped them all diagonally across the card base first and then I fussy cut a few of each colour and popped them up Pop Dots.  Some gems and an embossed sentiment finished it off nicely I think.  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Butterflies from Flap Happy, Sentiment from Fun & Flirty) Paper Smooches
Ink:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko, (Abandoned Coral, Festive Berries, Carved Pumpkin, Fossilizsed Amber, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet) Ranger
Embossing Powder: (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Gems:  Recollections

Geometric Birthday

Today's card is for 3 different challenges.  I started out by looking at the design from CAS(E) This Sketch.  I wanted to use the chevron pattern and when I saw the current Runway Inspired photo I thought it would work well with this and so used the colours from the model's shirt (although looking at the shirt more closely now I should have used Bermuda Bay for my blue instead of Island Indigo).  Since each of the pieces that make up the chevrons are actually parallelograms I am also going to enter this in the Geometric Patterns challenge at Virginia's View.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Basic Grey, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Halftone Hello) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Chevron Cover Plate) Lil' Inker Designs, (Happy) Mama Elephant
Other:  (Glossy Accents) Ranger

Awesome Butterfly

Good morning!  Just popping in before I jet off to work with a last minute entry for Just Add Ink's inspiration photo challenge.  I love the pop of pink in the bedroom photo and also wanted to include a butterfly.  I used a subtle geometric pattern (like on the bedsheets) for the bottom layer of the butterfly.  The background was created by adding Rose Red ink to embossing paste and using a Crafter's Workshop stencil.  Love the fun texture of that embossing paste!  I'm also going to play along with the CAS on Sunday Girl Power challenge.    Later, gators!

ETA:  Totally meant to enter this into the Virginia's View All Things Embossed challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Notes & Things 6x6) Crate Paper

Inks: (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Rose Red) Stampin' Up
Die:  (Life is Beautiful) Papertrey Ink
Stencil:  (Mini Well Rounded) The Crafter's Workshop

Sunflower Day

***This is my second post for the day.  For my Festive Friday post please scroll down or

Hello again!  I ended up having some time today to make a card for three challenges.  The initial inspiration came from the photo at the Fusion challenge.  It's a CAS design so I'm entering it in the Virginia's View Clean and Simple challenge and since I used all stamping I'm joining in with Time Out's stamping challenge (but not using the optional twist of apples).  I stamped the CAS-ual Fridays flower onto yellow cardstock and then added some highlights to the petals with Copics and then used Cinnamon Stickles on the centre of the flower.  I stamp layered the leaves and sentiment and then popped up the flower for a little dimension.  Okay, that's really it for today.  I'll be back tomorrow!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Daffodil Delight) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower & sentiment from Wonderful Words) Cas-ual Fridays, (Leaves from Turning A New Leaf) Papertrey Ink
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Soft Suede) Stampin' Up, (Green Hills) Hero Arts
Glitter:  (Cinnamon Stickles) Ranger
Markers:  (Y17, Y38) Copic

What's Canoe With You?

I love the little fox from Avery Elle's Happy Camper set and this week's ColourQ palette and photo immediately made me think of him.  It's so nice when a card comes together so quickly and easily - just a bit of stamping, some fussy cutting and it was done!  It's my kind of CAS card and because of that I'm also going to join in with the Clean and Simple challenge over at Virginia's View. Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Rainbow Air Vent

Wednesday is upon us already.  Ack!!  I'm joining The Cutting Edge Challenge and the Virginia's View Challenge to use die cuts.  The inspiration for TCEC is this gorgeous card from Lisa Addesa.  I'm a huge fan of her work so I was excited to play along.  I was inspired by the rainbow colours, the horizontal panel and the embossed card base.  I decided to add an extra pop of red and layer a sentiment flag over the panel and finally I topped the rainbow off with some matching rainbow gems.  Sweet and simple.  Hope you have a lovely day!

Jumping on the Bandwagon

Okay, so I know I'm waaaaay late for this bandwagon but I have never been very good at keeping up with trends.  And even when I do get my hands on trendy products it takes me ages to get around to using them.  Take the stencil and spray mists that I used here - I had to wipe the dust off of both of them before I started!  Ah well, better late than never.  And you know what? I just might try this again.  It was pretty fun and I'm pleased with the final result.  So pleased in fact that I'm going to enter it into the Virginia's View stencil challenge and the Moxie Fab stencil challenge.  Yee haw!  Now off to dust off some more stencils…
