CAS Christmas

This week's challenge at The Paper Players is to create a CAS Christmas card using red and green.  I found this cute sentiment stamp in my (very small) Stampin' Up stamp stash and decided it would be perfect for the challenge.  I popped up the tree, added Glossy Accents to the letters and did a little dry embossing to make it stand out a bit.

The Sky is the Limit

Ta dah!  Within 10 minutes of receiving my Market Street Stamps order I inked up the Bit of Burlap stamp and used it to give some funky texture to my sky.  That is a new record for me which makes it the second record of the day - the first being that my MSS and Twinery orders arrived exactly one week after I ordered them.  Pretty incredible for Bermuda!  The bright and bold colours on this card come from Kathy's Lily Pad Palette Challenge over at Lily Pad Cards.  And, although it may be a bit of a stretch, I'm going to enter this over at the Create Chevron Challenge.  Those stripes on the balloon sure look like chevrons to me!  :)

Stamps:  (Background stamp - Bit of Burlap) Market Street Stamps, (Balloons, clouds & sentiment from Up, Up and Away)  PTI

You're Special

There are so many really fun, creative takes on the inspiration photo challenge at the Paper Smooches Sparks blog.  My brain was not in a wildly creative mode today though so I went with a pretty literal interpretation of the photo.  It seemed wrong to pass up the perfect opportunity to finally ink up one of my Vegtastic stamps.  Simple but I like it.  :)
And guess what arrived today?  Nope, not my embossing powder.  That, according to the tracking number, is somewhere in New Jersey.  However, my Market Street Stamps and Twinery orders arrived today!  Whoop whoop!! I even used one of my MSS stamps immediately although you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see it).  This is a very rare occurrence.  Usually I admire them and fret over what to do with them for a few months before I actually ink them up.  :)
Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill Basics, (Red, green) Craft supply

Patterned Paper:  (Little Boy Collection) Echo Park
Stamps:  (Tomatoes from Vegtastic & sentiment from Sentiment Sampler) Paper Smooches

The End of the Ban

Good evening, all!  Just wanted to pop in to share my entry for this week's colour challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks.  I've been wanting to paper piece this Unity flower image for a while and since I need more birthday cards I paired it with this birthday sentiment.  I also added some Stickles to the flowers for a touch of sparkle and some Glossy accents to the "Happy" for some shine.

Oh, and remember the shopping ban?  So much for that...  When a shopping ban ends for me, it ends with a bang! Being forced to order more white embossing powder seems to have opened the ordering floodgates.  I am currently awaiting goodies from:

Scrapbook.com
Simon Says Stamp
Papertrey Ink
The Twinery
Market Street Stamps

I also tried to put an order in with Skipping Stones Designs but was having problems with checking out.  My messages to them asking for assistance have gone unanswered which I'm unimpressed with.  After experiencing such fantastic customer service from other companies (Unity, Woodware USA, Purple Onion Designs) maybe I now have high expectations.  However, given the economic tough times we're going through, what company would ignore messages saying, "Please help me give you my money"??  Their loss and I'm sure there are plenty of other companies who would be happy to help me out.

Crossword Bird

I've always loved this Unity stamp but had never inked it up.  Thankfully Lindsey used it recently on this fantastic card and it inspired me to ink up my own.  I used this week's Colour Throwdown colours along with Unity and PTI stamps.

And lest you all think I completely forgot (yes, I'm two days late!) - here's the winner of the Print Candee gift certificate:

Triple Threat

***This is my 2nd post for the day.  Please click here for my ColourQ entry!***

This card is a triple threat challenge card!  I'm entering it in All Things Unity's Be Inspired challenge, the Young Crafters Unite Envelope to Match challenge and the Holiday Madness Challenge at Wee Memories.  The inspiration for the ATU challenge came from this picture of a pillow I found in Real Simple magazine.  I liked the turquoise and white design and, although I initially planned that the images would be more like the pillow, I ended up using the Christmas tree because it has a folky feel to it.
Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill Basics, (Tempting Turquoise) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Image and sentiment from Sept 2011 KOM - All Seasons) Unity Stamp Co
Ink:  (Tempting Turquoise) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Nestabilities Labels 14)  Spellbinders

Bug Love

Hello, hello!  Just a quick post for now and I'll be back with another later.  Got lots of deadlines to meet today!  :)  This is my entry for the latest ColourQ challenge.  I was inspired by the bumble bee bag and stuck to the bug theme using my Paper Smooches lightning bug.  Some simple paper piecing and twine antennae and we're done!  I really struggled with the sentiment though.  I REALLY wanted to emboss it with white EP but as I mentioned here I won't have any more of that for a while!  I tried clear embossing over white ink with little success so straight white ink it is for this card!  See you all later!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Basic Black, Basic Grey, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Lightning bug and sentiment from Giddy Bugs set) Paper Smooches
Ink:  (Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaFine) Tsukineko, (Frost White) ColourBox
